The fine lines are the point
Batik makers in Sri Lanka draw each design onto cotton with hot wax, then dip the cloth in dye. The wax keeps the colour out, and when it hardens and cracks, a little dye seeps through.
Those hairline veins are how you know a piece was made by hand. We buy directly from small workshops, bring the stock to Watford, and keep our prices fair.
